Powertraveller Races with Red Bull X-Alps for Second Time

Born in 2003, the Red Bull X-Alps is the world's toughest adventure race, a bold claim, but one it surely deserves. In 2017, Powertraveller will be powering the athletes’ devices as an official partner for the second time in this, the eighth edition of the race.

The concept is a simple one. Approximately 30 athletes must race through the Alps, by foot or paraglider, a straight-line distance of approximately 1,000km. The unique adventure is something that has attracted and tested to the limit some of the world's top adventurers over the last 10 years.

Among adventurers, it's known as the ultimate race. It's an incredible challenge, demanding not only expert paragliding skill but extreme endurance. Some athletes will hike over 100km in a day and will have covered over 900km on foot by the time the race is over!

Each team consists of one Athlete and one Supporter. No technical or outside assistance is allowed. The Supporter is just there to help with logistics, food and mental help. Athletes can race between the hours of 05:00 to 22:30. Since 2013, athletes can each pull one 'Night Pass' that allows them to push-on through the night on foot.

Powertraveller is extremely proud to announce an official partnership agreement with Red Bull X-Alps 2017, following on from a successful 2015 collaboration.

The company will be supplying Red Bull X-Alps participants with product to keep their essential devices such as GPS charged through the grueling race.

Vicki Parlour, Marketing Manager for Powertraveller says “We are thrilled to partner with Red Bull X-Alps again for the 2017 race.  This event pushes the boundaries in terms of endurance and the athletes that take part are among the fittest in the world.

To be associated with this epic race once again is a huge achievement for the Powertraveller brand and is synonymous with the off-grid lifestyle our products aim to support.”
